Carcharodontosaurus (meaning Sharktooth Lizard) is an extinct genus of carnosaur and the type genus for the family Carcharodontosauridae. It existed from 100.5-65 MYA in Algeria, Argentina, Libya, Morocco, Sudan, and Tunisia. There are two known species. The smaller species, Carcharodontosaurus Iguidensis, lived from 95-90 MYA. The larger one, Carcharodontosaurus Saharicus, lived from 100.5-65 MYA.
